Set in 104 acres of pasture and woodland (right photograph) with a 1/4 acre wildlife lake it offers frequent sightings of roe deer lapwings curlews and water fowl and walking in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park from the door. Castleton (11/2 miles) boasts shops inns restaurants and scenic train rides to Whitby's harbour and sandy beaches (15 miles).
