This property is located close to the harbour and town centre in delightful Brixham one of three towns that make up the area known as the English Riviera. The area is known for its warm microclimate and there are a number of beaches close to the town centre which allow visitors to make the most of the warm waters and sunny days. One beach at Shoalstone even has a large 53-metre tidal pool allowing safe bathing no matter what the conditions are out at sea. The town centre is a charming place with a good range of shops as well as a number of pubs and family-run restaurants many of which specialise in the local seafood which visitors can see the fishermen bringing home in the town s harbour. This characterful cottage is a great place to spend a few days away and the guests will feel the welcoming cosy atmosphere as soon as they enter. The front door opens into the sun room an unusual addition to the property of this size which offers a great place to have breakfast whilst watching the morning activity on the harbour. Then through to the lounge with its inviting sofa TV Blu-ray player and wood burner-effect gas fire this room makes for a fantastic place to sit back relax whatever the weather and let the stresses of daily life melt away. Several steps lead to the dining room with Combi TV whilst a few more steps lead to the kitchen. The style and age of the cottage means that these rooms have sloping ceilings and some reduced head-height however the kitchen is still well-equipped and offers an AGA double oven hob microwave fridge/freezer Miele dishwasher and washer/dryer. Winding cottage-style stairs lead to the first-floor where the bedroom is located with its king-size Hypnos mattress bed DVD player. Patio doors here open onto the balcony patio which has chairs provided to allow guests to sit at night with drinks and gaze out to sea. The shower room is also on this floor with its shower and WC. The property has a fantastic South/West facing balcony patio located off the bedroom which is the perfect spot for watching the fishing boats and pleasure craft come and go below. There is a garden with the cottage which is used on occasions by the owners but can be used by guests if available (which is most of the time) although guests will be able to share the garden with the owners if being used by them during their stay. Brixham is busy fishing village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.. Many of the amenities and cottages in Brixham are accessed via steps some of which can be steep.. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.. There are many small winding streets that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Brixham do not have private parking. However, alternative parking is available in local carparks..
