This property enjoys a countryside location just a short distance from the ancient village of Pevensey. Pevensey Castle began its life as a Saxon Shore fort in the 4th century and an impressive two-thirds of the original walls still stand with the Norman parts being added after William the Conqueror s invasion. English Heritage now manage the castle and it makes a great place for an afternoon out exploring the towered bailey and the atmospheric dungeons. There is also an interesting gaol and courthouse museum in the village as well as a number of shops and pubs. The neighbouring village of Pevensey Bay two miles from the property is home to a shingle beach which tends to be quieter than other local beaches even in high-season. The seaside towns of Hastings and Eastbourne are a short drive away. At the heart of this pleasant ground-floor property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner: a light and airy room with two comfortable sofas and a TV for guests to enjoy after a busy day of sightseeing. The contemporary kitchen is equipped with an oven hob microwave and fridge. There is a small table with seating for two next to the patio doors which open onto the outside seating area. The property s one bedroom is a peaceful relaxing double room with a built-in wardrobe. The wet room meanwhile is located close to the bedroom and offers a walk in wet room and WC. Outside there is a secluded shingled courtyard garden to the front of the property which is accessed through the patio door in the kitchen and offers a table and chairs making it the ideal place to enjoy al fresco drinks or meals.
