About Congham Holiday Cottage

This property is located in a secluded rural idyll surrounded by rolling countryside in North-West Norfolk just outside the village of Congham. A convenient shop and village pub can be reached within a fifteen-minute walk of the cottage making it easy to stock-up on essentials or to head out for drinks in the evening. Nine miles from the property the town of King s Lynn is a pleasant place to spend a day with its array of interesting historic buildings including the 16th century Customs House. Continuing down the River Ouse from King s Lynn visitors will come to The Wash an impressive coastal wetland which is home to an abundance of wildlife including a colony of grey seals and a wide range of migrating birds. North of the cottage the villages of Snettisham and Heacham each have quiet beaches whilst the resort town of Hunstanton located 15 miles away boasts a sandy beach and all the facilities you would expect of a bustling seaside town. Stepping inside this sprawling single-storey property the first room that guests will come to is the kitchen/diner a bright room with two dining tables and an excellent array of equipment including an AGA oven (switched on from October to May) a conventional oven and hob microwave fridge/freezer a dishwasher and washing machine. A door from this room leads through to the lounge which despite being a generously-sized room has a wonderfully cosy feel to it with a large fireplace where guests can enjoy a real fire. There is plenty of comfortable seating from where guests can enjoy the TV/DVD as well as the views from the huge picture window which looks over the grounds to the lake. A twin bedroom is located just off the lounge next to which there is a bathroom with a bath and WC. The remaining three bedrooms are accessed back through the kitchen all of which enjoy en-suite facilities. At the far end of this wing the palatial master bedroom is a fantastically spacious room with a double bed a comfortable seating area and patio doors which open onto the terrace. This room has an en-suite bathroom with a bath shower over the bath and WC whilst another double room has an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. The fourth bedroom is a twin room next to which an en-suite bathroom boasts a bath shower over the bath and WC. The outside space is just as impressive as the cottage s interior space with guests enjoying access to a private parkland with masses of space to relax play and enjoy leisure time. The walled courtyard is a lovely sunny spot with a terraced seating area for which there is seating and a BBQ provided. The on-site lake is stocked yearly with trout and is great for those who enjoy fishing with fly fishing rods provided. Also guests may like to enjoy a fun trip across the lake on the rowing boat provided. A stable is used as a log store and also has a collection of children s outdoor toys whilst there is also storage space for bikes. There is off-road parking available for four cars.
