Great Walsingham is a picturesque village with pretty cottages and is a pleasant walk (less than a mile) from the medieval village of Little Walsingham which is home to the Roman Catholic National Shrine and the ruins of a 12th century priory. The village also offers a choice of restaurants pubs a fish and chip shop and farm shop. You can also enjoy a trip on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway which takes you to the bustling coastal village of Wells-next-the-Sea. Hunstanton and Heacham are also nearby as are the thriving market towns of Holt and Fakenham or you could explore some of the region s many beautiful nature reserves including those at Blakeney Cley Titchwell Marsh and Snettisham. Named after the 15th century sculpture in its front wall this Grade 2 listed building is chronicled by the famous architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner in his Architectural Guide of English Buildings. Dating back to at least the 16th century this beautiful property has been thoughtfully restored to provide comfortable accommodation while retaining original features including exposed beamed ceilings traditional ledge and brace doors and a timber-built wall. On entering you will find a comfortable and welcoming lounge with plenty of seating TV DVD CD and a traditional wood burner. You will also find an attractive dining room where you can enjoy a meal in style and the kitchen/breakfast room is fully equipped with an Aga style range oven electric oven microwave fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a ground-floor shower room with WC. Going upstairs you will find three cosy double bedrooms one of which has an additional single bed. There is also a bathroom complete with a hand-held shower and WC. Stepping outside you will find a spacious south-facing garden which is a lovely sheltered suntrap complete with a lawn and a patio where you can relax and dine alfresco. Parking is available.
