The pretty village of Whorlton makes a perfect base for exploring the North Pennines (10 miles) and the Yorkshire Dales (15 miles). There are numerous walks to enjoy including the Teesdale Way or you can admire the landscapes of Swaledale (17 miles) and Arkengarthdale (16 miles). The charming town of Barnard Castle (4 miles) features a host of boutique shops pubs and cafes as well as the Bowes Museum and a 12th-century castle with stunning views. You could also visit Richmond (13 miles) with its cobbled market square and the medieval Richmond Castle. Heading a little further afield you can discover the historic city of Durham (24 miles). On entering this idyllic bungalow which features flagstone floors and underfloor heating throughout you will find a cosy and welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The pretty lounge is an ideal space to relax in with comfortable seating a TV with DVD and Netflix and a traditional wood burner set in a beautiful stone inglenook fireplace. You will also find a lovely dining area perfect for a romantic meal. The attractive kitchen is fully equipped with an oven dishwasher and microwave with the freezer washing machine and tumble dryer housed in the nearby utility room. There s also a peaceful bedroom with a king-size bed and a bathroom complete with bath walk-in shower and WC. Stepping outside you will find a pretty walled garden with a delightful patio area where you can relax with a glass of wine or a meal. There is also a paved area to the rear of the cottage with a bistro table and chairs. A separate utility is perfect for storing bikes and muddy boots.
