With a selection of pubs cafes restaurants and shops within a 5-minute stroll this stunning 18th century property enjoys a great location in Middleham. Famous for its castle once the home of Richard III and a base for racehorse trainers who lead their horses through the streets and up to the gallops daily this beautiful market town is an idyllic place to soak up the Yorkshire way of life. If you re holidaying with children The Forbidden Corner is just 2.5 miles away and has been regularly voted as the best family attraction in Yorkshire. Leyburn a town renowned for its antique shops and auction centre is 2 miles away or you could venture slightly further afield to West Burton (9 miles) Richmond (11.5 miles) or Askrigg (13.5 miles) for a wider selection of shops and eateries. Offering a host of original features including wooden beams fireplaces and sash windows this three-storey townhouse is full of character. Some parts of the building even date back to the 1600s. Step into the entrance lobby and admire the original bell pull before making your way into the generous lounge with its oak floorboards original bay window offering lots of natural light and large open fire within an inglenook fireplace. Choose one of the two sumptuous sofas or two comfy armchairs enjoy the glow of the fire and settle down with a movie on the Smart TV with DVD. A base sound amplifier gives a home cinema effect and Wi-Fi is also available. A second lounge can be found on the top floor of the house with a plush L-shaped sofa where you can unfurl with a good book or make the most of another Smart TV with DVD and selection of DVDs. For additional entertainment there is a table football machine board games and a library of books. A spacious kitchen with its sleek units granite worktops and slate floor comes complete with all the mod cons including a hob two electric ovens full-size fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. The cupboards are well stocked with all the crockery pots pans and utensils you ll need to rustle up a hearty family dinner which can be enjoyed around the chunky farmhouse table. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and dryer. Downstairs is also home to an additional WC. For more formal dinners an elegant dining room provides a large dining table seating eight people comfortably. In here homecooked meals can be served with the glow of the flames from the open inglenook fireplace in the background and a French cupboard contains a variety of drinks glasses. You might also notice the original hooks hanging from the ceiling which hark back to when this period property was once a pub. When it s time to get a good night s sleep head to one of the four bedrooms which are located on either the first or second floor. There are three bedrooms on the first floor two of which have a king-size French bed period fireplace TV and an en-suite shower room. One of these bedrooms also has an additional walk-in wardrobe/dressing area. The third bedroom on this floor is a twin with two full-size single beds which can be zipped together to offer one super king-size bed if requested and a TV. The family bathroom is next door offering a bath with shower overhead. The fourth bedroom is on the top floor of the house and has a zip-and-link bed offering a twin or super-king set-up. It will be configured as a super-king as standard so please ask if you would prefer two singles. There is also a TV and an en-suite shower room. Therefore every bedroom effectively has access to its own facilities. Outside step down into a small attractive rear patio garden with outdoor furniture and a pear tree an idyllic space to while away an afternoon in the sunshine.
