Five miles west of the cottage is Lake Windermere the most-visited and largest of the lakes. There is plenty to see and do both on the lake and on the lakeside ranging from water sports and boat trips to pretty towns historic castles and scenic walks. The nearby village of Staveley boasts a 1388 church a range of shops and a few inns offering restorative hearty meals. Those with an interest in culture and history are also well-catered for in the area with the stately home at Sizergh Castle lying six miles south of the property and is a fascinating destination for a day out particularly when coupled with a stop at Sizergh Barn a fantastic farm shop and tearoom. The front door of this property opens at the top of a small flight of stairs which lead into the hallway with exposed oak beams and dark wood flooring. A glass door leads into a light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area has comfy luxurious sofas wood burner large picture window and window seat with stunning views. Outside the property is a patio with garden furniture. There is also an outside shared garden with three acres of gardens including an unfenced large pond which is home to wild ducks frogs and newts as well as water-lilies and gunnera. There is off-road parking for two cars.
