Away from the hustle and bustle of the medieval walled city but close enough for easy access to enjoy a wonderful day trip with its ancient cobbled street The Shambles filled with shops cafes pubs and places to eat. Enjoy the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre for a step back in time or stroll along the walls of the city. There are regular meetings held at the nearby racecourse. Stately homes in the area include Castle Howard and the World Heritage site at Fountains Abbey. For lovers of the countryside nearby are the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks both with walks and cycle routes suitable for all ages. The Yorkshire Coastline is just a short drive away with resorts such as Whitby Scarborough and Filey. This cottage originally two cottages dates back to the 1770s and has been restored to provide luxurious accommodation. Set back from the road the cottage offers privacy on entering through the boot room which has storage and seating to remove wellies and coats and is ideal for your dog s bed if you choose to bring your four-legged friend. Walking through you will enter the fabulous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you will gain an immediate sense of space light and comfort. This space overlooks the rear garden. The kitchen is bright and well-equipped with electric oven and induction hob fridge/freezer microwave and dishwasher and the utility room hosts the washing machine and tumble dryer. Natural light floods through the patio doors and kitchen skylight leading across to the dining area you can enjoy your meal amongst the muted colour scheme adding to the relaxing ambience of the cottage. The lounge with its warming wood burner Smart TV and comfortable seating for all is set at the front of the property and is perfect for a celebration or family gathering. Whether you re cooking the evening meal relaxing with a glass of wine or sitting at the dining table no one is left to feel that they are missing out in this sociable space. Across the hallway is the snug warmed by the wood burner with the added bonus of another Smart TV this space is ideal for getting away from it all snuggling up with a book or watching a film. As you head up the stairs to the first floor you can t help but admire the arched feature window at the top. Once on the first floor you will find the three bedrooms two king-size bedrooms one with en-suite shower room and WC and one with and en-suite bathroom with shower over roll top bath and WC. The last bedroom is a twin with access to the main bathroom with bath separate shower and WC. Please note all bedrooms have Smart TVs. To the rear of the cottage is a tranquil sheltered seating area offering an ideal space for breakfast or for al fresco dining extremely private and beautifully planted. The owners have thoughtfully added a small pizza oven/BBQ for outdoor cooking and some potted herbs adorn the garden walls ready to be picked to add to recipes. To the front of the cottage there is ample room for the bicycles to be stored and space for the children to run around. The off-road parking for two cars is reached by a slightly narrow driveway. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 2 king size and 1 twin. 1 bathroom, 1 en suite bathroom and 1 en suite shower room. Electric oven and induction hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. 4 adult bikes and 3 children s bikes provided (cycle helmets not provided). 2 wood burners (logs included). Electric and central heating included.
