When the opportunity arose for two local businessmen to purchase 160 acres of farmland around Blarneythey decided to transform it into an internationally acclaimed golf resort.

In order to realise their visionthey enlisted one of golf's great charactersthe enigmatic John Daly. The course sympathetically takes in the protected natural woodland of the Shournagh Valleyand has been designed in the style of a modern resort course; there is a range of tees to suit golfers of all standards and physiquesnot just those who strike the ball like Long John.
