About Northam Holiday Cottage

This property is located in the village of Northam which lies on the outskirts of the seaside town of Westward Ho! a popular seaside town with an impressive two-mile stretch of sandy beach. Behind the beach is Northam Burrows Country Park a quiet coastal nature reserve offering a lovely place to enjoy walks amongst the sand dunes. Just 1.5 miles to the north of the property is the pretty fishing village of Appledore which makes a delightful place to spend an afternoon strolling by the quay browsing the shops and sampling the village pubs. Bideford an historic port town situated on the River Torridge is located two-miles south of the property and offers an interesting range of independent shops and restaurants as well as boat trips from the town s harbour. This property offers spacious accommodation with attractive period features. There are two separate lounge areas the main one being situated on the ground floor a sunny room with patio doors leading out to the garden and offering a TV with Chromecast a DVD and a Bluetooth speaker enabling guests to play their own music as well as a handsome Dorset sandstone fireplace within which sits a flame-effect gas fire. A door from this room leads to the second lounge area a cosy snug room with a second TV and DVD and a warming gas fire set in the stone fireplace. There is also a conservatory with another seating area allowing guests to enjoy views across the garden no matter what the weather. A breakfast table sits in the middle of the property s kitchen which is well-equipped with an oven hob microwave fridge/freezer washer/dryer and dishwasher. Perhaps the most impressive room in the house is the dining room an imposing room with a large dining table exposed beams an inglenook fireplace with a gas fire and terracotta tiled floor. An unusual ship s beam (steep) staircase leads from the dining room to the first floor where the bedrooms are located. Three of the property s bedrooms can be found leading off from the main landing the first of these is a king-size room which can be made up as a twin room on request benefitting from an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. There is also a second king-size room and a twin room both of which have a handy wash basin as well as shower room with a double-size shower cubicle and WC. The fourth bedroom another twin room can be found in a first-floor annexe which is accessed through a set of swing doors off the main landing where there is also a bathroom offering a bath handheld shower and WC. Outside there is an attractive walled garden mainly set to lawn with two patio seating areas. There is off-road parking for two mid-sized cars.
