Ideally situated to explore the Norfolk Broads and beyond. Freethorpe is a large village located on the western edge of the Norfolk Broads between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft it is located just a few minutes from the popular wedding venue of Southwood Hall and only a few miles to the Broadland village of Reedham where you can fish or enjoy scenic views across the river with marshes beyond that are abundant with wildlife. Hire a boat to explore the famous waterways or cross the River Yare by a chain ferry which is a short cut to Great Yarmouth. Reedham has 3 pubs all serving good food fish & chip shop and a railway station. For local shopping Acle is only 6 miles away. Nearby are Pettitts Adventure Park with small animal farm plus R.S.P.B. reserve Strumpshaw Fen. Visit Norwich for museums cathedrals theatres shopping malls or hire a punt on the river. Great Yarmouth is 8 miles away for sandy beaches leisure centre crazy golf Sea Life Centre end of pier entertainment and try a horse drawn carriage ride.
