About Skipton Holiday Cottage

This property is located on an elevated side street just a stone s throw from the thriving market town of Skipton which lies at the Gateway of the of the Yorkshire Dales National Park just 1.5 miles south . The town has a vibrant feel to it and you can t fail to be impressed by the historical treasures this picturesque market town has to offer with its colourful orchestra of quaint streets ancient woodland and famous waterways. The property is within 10 minutes walking distance from the town s famous 900 year old castle. The Embsay and Bolton Abbey steam railway and Bolton Abbey itself are close by. Fly fishing is available locally and the Pennine boats trips are a popular way to see Yorkshire on the Leeds-Liverpool canal. If you want to go a little further afield there are many places of interest within about a 35 minute drive: north into the Yorkshire Dales brings you to the spectacular Malham Cove going south you ll find Haworth and Bronte country and east the beautiful and rugged Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This cottage has a warm homely feel to it which can be felt as soon as guests enter the property and move through to the lounge. This welcoming room is a relaxing place to spend time with its warming gas fire set in the stone fireplace and TV/DVD alongside comfortable seating. Double doors from the lounge open into the kitchen/diner where guests will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven hob microwave fridge with ice compartment and a washing machine as well as a dining table seating four. A lovely addition to this property upstairs is the reading room which can be used as a second lounge offering a quiet escape for guests who might like to unwind with a good book or magazine at the end of a busy day. Also upstairs there are two bedrooms the first of which is a king-size room with plenty of wardrobe space and its own TV. This versatile room can be made up as a twin room on request thanks to the zip-and-link beds. The second bedroom is a pleasant double room which overlooks the residential street below. The bathroom can also be found on the first floor and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Outside there is a traditional walled garden to the rear of the property. There is roadside parking available for one car just outside the cottage.
